Schmitz du Pentagone. Nous en avions rendu compte, sur la foi d&rsquo;un article incolore de <em>Defense News<\/em>, en laissant, nous semble-t-il, percer ici et l\u00e0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dedefensa.org\/article.php?art_id=1916\" class=\"gen\">tout le mauvais esprit<\/a> qui nous caract\u00e9rise.  L&rsquo;article du Los Angeles <em>Times<\/em> justifie <em>a posteriori<\/em> ce mauvais esprit. Peut-\u00eatre est-ce que les grands esprits se rencontrent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t(La diff\u00e9rence de ton et d&rsquo;information entre les deux articles,  <em>Defense News<\/em> et le Los Angeles <em>Times<\/em>,  est r\u00e9v\u00e9latrice. Cela mesure la relativit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;information. Le moins qu&rsquo;on puisse dire est que <em>Defense News<\/em>, qui dispose d&rsquo;un important r\u00e9seau de sources au Pentagone, aurait pu se poser quelques questions en m\u00eame temps qu&rsquo;\u00e0 ses sources,  les m\u00eames questions d&rsquo;ailleurs.) <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tBref, Schmitz s&rsquo;en va parce qu&rsquo;il tra\u00eene quelques vilaines casseroles derri\u00e8re lui.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab <em>Defense Department Inspector General Joseph E. Schmitz told staffers this week that he intended to resign as of Sept. 9 to take a job with the parent company of Blackwater USA, a defense contractor. The resignation comes after Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) sent Schmitz several letters this summer informing him that he was the focus of a congressional inquiry into whether he had blocked two criminal investigations last year.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb <em>Grassley, chairman of the Finance Committee, accused Schmitz of fabricating an official Pentagon news release, planning an expensive junket to Germany and hiding information from Congress. Schmitz is the senior Pentagon official charged with investigating waste, fraud and abuse.
