We&rsquo;re reorienting the antiwar movement to make the connection between the vast expenditure for the war in Iraq and the woefully inadequate response to the victims of Katrina, said Brian Becker, national coordinator for the ANSWER Coalition, which sponsored the rally.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t(&#8230;)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb <em>The New York offices of United for Peace and Justice, a sponsor of the Sept. 24 rally with ANSWER, have been inundated with calls from people who want to join the movement because of their dissatisfaction with the federal response on the Gulf Coast, said Leslie Cagan, national coordinator for the group. Just in the past two or three days, the phones have been ringing off the hook here, Cagan said. President Bush earned similar marks, with 42 percent rating his response negatively, 35 percent rating it positively and 21 percent choosing the middle option. The public was slightly easier on Louisiana officials; a small plurality gave their response favorable marks.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb <em>More than 60 percent of those surveyed said they believed that progress made in dealing with the situation was satisfactory, while 35 percent said it was not. A 38-percent plurality said no one  not Bush, federal agencies or local officials  was to blame for the problems after the hurricane, and respondents stopped short of calling for anyone&rsquo;s head. Fewer than three in 10 said federal officials responsible for handling emergencies should be fired.<\/em> \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><p>\tLa situation aux Etats-Unis est particuli\u00e8rement politis\u00e9e aujourd&rsquo;hui, plus encore qu&rsquo;elle ne l&rsquo;\u00e9tait avant Katrina. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un facteur important dans la mesure o\u00f9 il devrait contribuer \u00e0 faciliter de fa\u00e7on d\u00e9cisive la circulation des positions politiques des uns et des autres, et surtout la circulation des critiques de l&rsquo;administration et des positions des opposants structurels \u00e0 l&rsquo;administration GW (comme le mouvement anti-guerre qui veut capitaliser sur les r\u00e9actions d\u00e9favorables \u00e0 GW apr\u00e8s Katrina).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tToute autre chose est <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dedefensa.org\/article.php?art_id=1908\" class=\"gen\">l&rsquo;\u00e9volution psychologique des Am\u00e9ricains<\/a>, dont nous faisons grand cas <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dedefensa.org\/article.php?art_id=1919\" class=\"gen\">dans nos textes<\/a>. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une \u00e9volution inconsciente, qui implique l&rsquo;optimisme ou le pessimisme du sentiment et de la perception, qui ne se retranscrit pas n\u00e9cessairement en soutien \u00e0 Bush ou en opposition \u00e0 Bush (le lien de cause \u00e0 effet, s&rsquo;il existe sans aucun doute, est tr\u00e8s indirect et tr\u00e8s insaisissable \u00e0 d\u00e9finir et \u00e0 pr\u00e9voir).
