Le s\u00e9nateur Max Cleland, un ancien combattant gravement bless\u00e9 au Vi\u00eat-nam, a r\u00e9sum\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat d&rsquo;esprit de cette r\u00e9union par ces mots : \u00ab <em>We need an exit strategy we choose or it will certainly be chosen for us.<\/em> \u00bb Les auditions ont permis d&rsquo;apprendre que des contacts avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 pris par des partisans d&rsquo;une <em>exit strategy<\/em> avec des anciens dignitaires du r\u00e9gime Saddam r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s \u00e0 Amman, mais aussi avec certaines personnalit\u00e9s jordaniennes qui seraient pr\u00eates \u00e0 aider \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9laboration d&rsquo;une telle strat\u00e9gie.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tReste que ce qui a domin\u00e9 ces d\u00e9bats, c&rsquo;est la rancur contre l&rsquo;attitude et le comportement de l&rsquo;administration et de ses soutiens r\u00e9publicains. \u00ab <em>Overall, the members of Congress expressed limitless frustration with the obstructionism of the Republicans against any effort to examine Iraq policy, with the ineptness of U.S. efforts in Iraq, and with the inability of Congress to take on the executive branch. This administration, said an exasperated Rep. Maurice Hinchey, is so bumbling, so stupid, so incompetent, so corrupt. Gen. Joseph Hoar, a retired Marine Corps officer who led the Central Command, called the war in Iraq the wrong war, at the wrong time, waged with extraordinary incompetence by the civilian leadership. Sounds like Vietnam, doesn&rsquo;t it? And, as Max Cleland pointed out: I&rsquo;ve seen that movie before.
