R\u00e9alise-t-il qu’il d\u00e9crit, dans ces derni\u00e8res lignes, une v\u00e9ritable schizophr\u00e9nie ? Car si l’Am\u00e9rique reproche \u00e0 l’Europe de ne pas l’aider dans la guerre contre la terreur, ou, selon la derni\u00e8re mode, the Long War<\/em>, ne serait-il pas temps qu’on se demande si cette guerre n’est pas une cr\u00e9ation de la schizophr\u00e9nie am\u00e9ricaniste, ce qu’elle est bien \u00e9videmment? Car tout est l\u00e0 : nous ne sommes pas devant une politique h\u00e9g\u00e9monique, discutable, voire une politique folle. Where Europe is removing borders, Americans are recreating them, in their heads as well as on the ground.<\/em> <\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\u00bb The rising tide of anti-Europeanism in the United States is a clear sign that America’s foreign policy is becoming autistic, unwilling to listen to its own friends.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\u00bb America’s international image has never been so dismal, which indicates that Europe’s criticism of U.S. foreign policy is not unique but part of a worldwide feeling that the only remaining superpower is getting out of control.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\u00bb Most Europeans now look at the United States as a good friend who has turned himself away from them, and whose arrogance may hide a deeply felt sense of insecurity, overcompensated by throwing its weight around.<\/em> <\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\u00bb Rising anti-Europeanism indicates the closing of America’s mind, and we won’t see a festive reopening any time soon.<\/em> \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
