Peut-\u00eatre que les am\u00e9ricains rechignent \u00e0 partager leurs secrets et progr\u00e8s technologiques parce qu&rsquo;ils ne sont peut-\u00eatre ni vraiment des secrets, ni des progr\u00e8s&#8230;<\/em> \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t<em>Swisswatch<\/em> nous indique un article publi\u00e9 ce jour sur le site du <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/news\/national\/not-so-stealthy-the-15b-fighters\/2006\/03\/13\/1142098404532.html\" class=\"gen\">Sidney Morning Herald<\/a>, consacr\u00e9 effectivement aux qualit\u00e9s du JSF. L&rsquo;article est du plus haut int\u00e9r\u00eat et nous engageons nos lecteurs \u00e0 le consulter. Il rapporte des accusations s\u00e9rieuses concernant les capacit\u00e9s du JSF, essentiellement venues d&rsquo;un parlementaire lib\u00e9ral et ancien analyste de d\u00e9fense, le Dr. Dennis Jensen, docteur en physique appliqu\u00e9e et consultant de la Defence Science and Technology Organisation du minist\u00e8re de la d\u00e9fense. Les pr\u00e9occupations de Jensen sont d\u00e9sormais partag\u00e9es par un autre parlementaire lib\u00e9ral, David Fawcett, anciennement commandant du centre d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation en vol de la RAAF. Des parlementaires et des clients s\u00e9rieux.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tJensen-Fawcett signalent que le JSF co\u00fbtera certainement plus cher qu&rsquo;annonc\u00e9 ; qu&rsquo;il a des qualit\u00e9s d&rsquo;autonomie tr\u00e8s faibles compar\u00e9s au F-111 qu&rsquo;il doit remplacer, n\u00e9cessitant l&rsquo;usage de ravitailleurs en vol ; qu&rsquo;il a des capacit\u00e9s tr\u00e8s faibles en combat a\u00e9rien, qui le placent dans des conditions d&rsquo;inf\u00e9riorit\u00e9 manifeste \u00e0 l&rsquo;encontre des chasseurs Sukho\u00ef (29 et 35) en service dans la zone. Jensen d\u00e9finit le JSF au combat comme un camion \u00e0 bombes (\u00ab <em>essentially a second tier bomb truck. It lacks the necessary aerodynamics to defeat the<\/em> [Sukhoi] <em>Flankers, never mind future aircraft that may proliferate<\/em> \u00bb).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tEnfin, il y a le probl\u00e8me de sa furtivit\u00e9 (<em>stealth<\/em>), qui s&rsquo;av\u00e8re inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 ce que les Am\u00e9ricains annon\u00e7aient. L&rsquo;avion est d\u00e9sormais qualifi\u00e9 de <em>low observable<\/em> alors qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait auparavant <em>very low observable<\/em> (\u00ab <em>Peter Goon, a former RAAF flight test engineer, said that would mean the difference between it appearing as a marble and a beach ball on enemy radar.<\/em> \u00bb).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tLe r\u00e9cit des d\u00e9marches qu&rsquo;il a fallu effectuer pour obtenir confirmation de cette d\u00e9gradation des capacit\u00e9s furtives du JSF indique, par le simple constat des manuvres d&#8217;emp\u00eachement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;encontre les g\u00eaneurs, 1) que l&rsquo;affaire est s\u00e9rieuse et 2) qu&rsquo;elle est r\u00e9cente et r\u00e9sulte des constats effectu\u00e9s lors d&rsquo;essais en vol. \u00ab <em>A Federal Government source conceded yesterday that the stealth capability definitions had been changed, but maintained that the design requirements for the fighter to avoid detection had not.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb <em>Signs that the stealth capability had been lowered first emerged last year, when key performance indicators on the US Defence Department Joint Strike Fighter website changed. The manufacturer of the aircraft, Lockheed Martin, insisted repeatedly to the Herald that the reported shift was an error. Australia&rsquo;s Defence Department also maintained there had been no change.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb <em>But those assurances have proven false. When the Herald contacted the US Defence Department Joint Strike Fighter program office in Washington, a spokeswoman said the latest table on its website was correct.
