\tQue se passe-t-il ? AMLO est vilipend\u00e9 pour contester une d\u00e9faite dont tout le monde sait bien qu’elle est \u00e0 la fois juste, justifi\u00e9e et dans le sens de l’Histoire ; il est vilipend\u00e9 pour contester un syst\u00e8me dont l’avanc\u00e9e d\u00e9mocratique est \u00e0 l’honneur du syst\u00e8me triomphant en Occident (on comprend que le Post<\/em> soit impressionn\u00e9, par rapport aux performances du syst\u00e8me en Floride en 2000 ou dans l’Ohio en 2004) ; il est vilipend\u00e9 pour avoir dit quelque chose qui se rapprocherait de quelque chose que Staline aurait dit, ce qui est tout dire, d’autant que cela est dit pour d\u00e9crire la fa\u00e7on dont fonctionne le syst\u00e8me de comptage des votes au Mexique (dans ce cas, est stalinien celui qui cite Staline et non celui dont l’action est d\u00e9crite par la citation de Staline).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

He has made wild charges of manipulation and fraud against the federal elections institute, without offering any tangible proof; international and independent Mexican observers detected no such abuse. He has demanded that the tribunal, which has until September to rule on challenges to the election, order a full recount of the votes, even though the law does not provide for one. A filing made by his campaign to the tribunal revealingly quoted Joseph Stalin: It is those who count the votes who decide everything.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t\u00bb In fact, Mr. L\u00f3pez Obrador is betting that the threat of chaos in Mexico will sway the seven members of the tribunal to overrule or annul the votes of 42 million citizens, regardless of legal niceties or the actual vote count. His advocates point out that a similar campaign stopped an attempt by his opponents in Congress and the current government to exclude him from the presidential race last year. That maneuver — which we strongly opposed — failed when President Vicente Fox wisely and responsibly backed down. Now Mr. L\u00f3pez Obrador is making his own attempt to bend a brittle system to his purposes. He, too, should stop.<\/em> \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
