La cause n&rsquo;est nullement que le pouvoir politique n&rsquo;ait pas les moyens de lutter contre le pouvoir \u00e9conomique. Il y a chez lui une d\u00e9marche volontaire dans son attitude d&rsquo;acquiescement au pouvoir \u00e9conomique. Il y a la question de la corruption certes, mais elle n&rsquo;est nullement essentielle parce que la corruption n&rsquo;est en aucun cas uniforme (les int\u00e9r\u00eats \u00e9conomiques \u00e9tant souvent concurrents, les corruptions s&rsquo;annulent aussi souvent dans leurs effets politiques). C&rsquo;est essentiellement l&rsquo;id\u00e9ologie \u00e9conomiste, lib\u00e9rale et hyper-capitaliste, qui a consid\u00e9rablement p\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9 ses structures et influenc\u00e9 les hommes politiques, qui conduit le pouvoir politique \u00e0 accepter le <em>diktat<\/em> \u00e9conomique.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tL&rsquo;un des sujets les plus pol\u00e9miques de cette situation est la crise climatique essentiellement due \u00e0 notre syst\u00e8me \u00e9conomique. Le pouvoir politique fait peu de choses pour s&rsquo;opposer aux effets d\u00e9vastateurs de l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique, alors qu&rsquo;il existe de larges possibilit\u00e9s d&rsquo;intervention. Au niveau de la communication sur cette crise, l&rsquo;une des situations les plus choquantes est l&rsquo;activisme de certaines entreprises p\u00e9troli\u00e8res subventionnant des <em>lobbies<\/em> qui contestent radicalement la crise climatique et l&rsquo;effet de notre \u00e9conomie sur cette crise \u00e0 partir de donn\u00e9es scientifiques notoirement fausses. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine Exxon est sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans ce type d&rsquo;intervention.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tC&rsquo;est donc un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressant que signale le <em>Guardian<\/em> du <a href=\"http:\/\/business.guardian.co.uk\/story\/0,,1876540,00.html\" class=\"gen\">20 septembre<\/a>. La Royal Society, la premi\u00e8re acad\u00e9mie scientifique du Royaume-Uni, part en guerre contre Exxon, se substituant ainsi au pouvoir politique pour contrecarrer l&rsquo;activisme destructeur de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 US. Il s&rsquo;agit de l&rsquo;amorce d&rsquo;un bouleversement des fonctions civiques. Il met en lumi\u00e8re la crise du pouvoir politique qui d\u00e9serte sa fonction essentielle de d\u00e9fense du bien public et de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 dont il a la charge en m\u00eame temps qu&rsquo;il en est pr\u00e9tendument l&rsquo;\u00e9manation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tExtraits:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>Britain&rsquo;s leading scientists have challenged the US oil company ExxonMobil to stop funding groups that attempt to undermine the scientific consensus on climate change.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>In an unprecedented step, the Royal Society, Britain&rsquo;s premier scientific academy, has written to the oil giant to demand that the company withdraws support for dozens of groups that have misrepresented the science of climate change by outright denial of the evidence.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The scientists also strongly criticise the company&rsquo;s public statements on global warming, which they describe as inaccurate and misleading.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>In a letter earlier this month to Esso, the UK arm of ExxonMobil, the Royal Society cites its own survey which found that ExxonMobil last year distributed $2.9m to 39 groups that the society says misrepresent the science of climate change.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>These include the International Policy Network, a thinktank with its HQ in London, and the George C Marshall Institute, which is based in Washington DC. In 2004, the institute jointly published a report with the UK group the Scientific Alliance which claimed that global temperature rises were not related to rising carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>There is not a robust scientific basis for drawing definitive and objective conclusions about the effect of human influence on future climate, it said.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>In the letter, Bob Ward of the Royal Society writes: At our meeting in July &#8230; you indicated that ExxonMobil would not be providing any further funding to these organisations.
