Actuellement, ce co\u00fbt (comprenant certains composants qui ne sont pas repris dans le programme sp\u00e9cifique) est \u00e9valu\u00e9 autour de $10 milliards par an. Utilisant les donn\u00e9es du CBO, le CDI <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdi.org\/program\/document.cfm?DocumentID=3710&#038;StartRow=1&#038;ListRows=10&#038;appendURL=&#038;Orderby=D.DateLastUpdated&#038;ProgramID=6&#038;from_page=index.cfm\" class=\"gen\">estime<\/a> qu&rsquo;il atteindra $15 \u00e0 $18 milliards par an en 2016, ann\u00e9e du sommet de l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 budg\u00e9taire du programme.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>In a new report by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that looks at military spending between now and 2024, total investment costs for missile defense are expected to hit their highest point in 2016: $15 billion ($18 billion, if cost risk is included). This peak in spending is three years later than the CBO had anticipated when doing its projection in October 2005, largely due to delays in a few of the programs.<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tCes pr\u00e9visions, notamment avec les d\u00e9lais annonc\u00e9s, impliquent que le programme anti-missiles est en train d&rsquo;entrer dans sa phase la plus active d&rsquo;institutionnalisation au Pentagone (comme il l&rsquo;avait \u00e9t\u00e9 dans la premi\u00e8re phase, du temps de la SDI et de l&rsquo;URSS  en gros jusqu&rsquo;en 1990-91). C&rsquo;est bien entendu notablement plus que la phase SDI, o\u00f9 les d\u00e9penses atteignaient entre $5 et $10 milliards par an et qui totalis\u00e8rent pour tout le programme autour de $75 milliards. (La SDI n&rsquo;avait abouti \u00e0 aucun d\u00e9ploiement, servant surtout d&rsquo;officine de recyclage d&rsquo;importantes sommes d&rsquo;argent pour les armes impliqu\u00e9es et pour l&rsquo;industrie. L&rsquo;actuel programme devrait aboutir, lui, \u00e0 certains d\u00e9ploiements, ne serait-ce qu&rsquo;au niveau d&rsquo;unit\u00e9s navales type-AEGIS et de stations terrestres fixes. Par contre, le programme actuel est beaucoup moins ambitieux que l&rsquo;utopique SDI, dont Reagan esp\u00e9rait faire un rideau \u00e9tanche contre les forces nucl\u00e9aires strat\u00e9giques sovi\u00e9tiques.
