Et alors ? Comment en sortir lorsque toute une politique a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e l\u00e0-dessus, avec des moyens \u00e9normes pour l&rsquo;appliquer,  non, pour l&rsquo;imposer \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ? Lorsque cette politique a install\u00e9 le pi\u00e8ge sanglant et br\u00fblant des flammes de l&rsquo;enfer qu&rsquo;est la situation irakienne ?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tWilliam Pfaff, dans le texte qu&rsquo;il publie <a href=\"http:\/\/observer.guardian.co.uk\/world\/story\/0,,1951704,00.html\" class=\"gen\">ce jour<\/a> dans <em>The Observer<\/em>, est certainement celui qui approche le plus cette \u00e9trange r\u00e9alit\u00e9, la d\u00e9finit, en mesure les contraintes extraordinaires et d\u00e9couvre le pi\u00e8ge sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent historique o\u00f9 nous nous trouvons<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>This is what we exist to do. We are the leading nation, the most moral, born with the redemptive mission to create what the Puritan preacher Jonathan Winthrop called the City on the Hill&rsquo;, the democracy of the people and by the people&rsquo; that originated the modern world with our repudiation of monarchy and inherited privilege, establishing the greatest of republics, saving the Four Freedoms for the world by winning (alone!) both First and Second World Wars, then the Cold War, and now confronting the ultimate test of the &lsquo;long war&rsquo; against Evil itself, incarnate as Terror.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Today this is the language of government, journalism, politics and foreign policy in the US, spoken in the policy discussions at Washington think-tanks and on the editorial pages of newspapers.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Is this Orwellian? Or is it just demagogy, politicians&rsquo; lies, White House spin, journalistic laziness, formulations conceived to sell books? Or could it be cynical manipulation by apprentice dictators, energy industry and weapons-maker magnates, closet fascists?<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>It is not Orwellian in that the neocon ideologues, George Bush and Tony Blair, certainly believe all this. They are not being manipulated.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>It is not Orwellian because the creators of this cartoon-like conceptual world have themselves become actors in the virtual universe their ideas and actions have made. They have left reality behind  or they simply ignore it, as they did in invading Iraq.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>We have passed from 1984 to 2006, into a post-Orwellian condition in which Big Brother has become a part of his creation. He is now imposing it on others by acting as though it were real, at whatever expense to others.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>This is our problem today. In some measure we have all been drawn into this virtual world. How do we leave?<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tOui, <em>How do we leave ?<\/em>,  comment s&rsquo;\u00e9chapper de cette prison dont nous avons nous-m\u00eames forg\u00e9 les barreaux, dont nous avons ferm\u00e9 la porte, tourn\u00e9 la clef, avant de la jeter au loin, bien assez loin pour qu&rsquo;on ne la retrouve pas ? Voici la r\u00e9volution \u00e0 faire,  retrouver la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 A c\u00f4t\u00e9 de cela, la prise de la Bastille et le coup de force de L\u00e9nine sont de si p\u00e2les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents qu&rsquo;ils n&rsquo;en sont pas du tout. La situation du monde, et particuli\u00e8rement des Etats-Unis, est aujourd&rsquo;hui compl\u00e8tement in\u00e9dite.
