Alors que la fi\u00e8vre des nouvelles et des sp\u00e9culations diverses sur une attaque US contre l’Iran<\/a> s’amplifie, vient cette annonce, curieuse dans ce contexte, d’une visite de Nancy Pelosi, la d\u00e9mocrate, Speaker<\/em> de la Chambre des Repr\u00e9sentants, notamment en Syrie. Ce voyage aura lieu la semaine prochaine : Isra\u00ebl, le Liban, la Syrie, l’Arabie Saoudite. Il y a un curieux parall\u00e8le entre les deux \u00e9v\u00e9nements, tout comme une curieuse occurrence entre une visite commen\u00e7ant en Isra\u00ebl et se poursuivant notamment en Syrie. (Sauf si l’on admet l’hypoth\u00e8se que les Isra\u00e9liens recherchent un accord<\/a> avec la Syrie, qu’ils en ont \u00e9t\u00e9 emp\u00each\u00e9s par l’administration Bush, qu’ils cherchent \u00e0 relancer l’affaire par l’interm\u00e9diaire de Pelosi.)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\tBien entendu, la question concerne le rapport entre cette visite et la tension avec l’Iran. La Syrie est politiquement proche de l’Iran, malgr\u00e9 un certain refroidissement ces derni\u00e8res semaines. On voit mal comment la Syrie ne serait pas concern\u00e9e par une attaque contre l’Iran. La m\u00eame chose d’ailleurs pour l’Arabie<\/a>, que Pelosi va \u00e9galement visiter, et qui d\u00e9ploie des efforts fr\u00e9n\u00e9tiques pour stabiliser la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\tEn d’autres mots, la visite de Pelosi sonne \u00e9trangement au milieu des bruits de bottes plus ou moins sous-marins avec l’Iran. D’autre part, on peut \u00e9galement admettre que la fureur de l’administration GW devant l’annonce de ce voyage a aussi<\/strong> \u00e0 voir avec d’\u00e9ventuels projets belliqueux contre l’Iran. Toutes les hypoth\u00e8ses sont possibles et on ne s’en prive pas.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t\u00bbIt then asked her to carry a strong message to Damascus, officials said. They should end their support for Palestinian rejectionist groups, take a constructive stance vis-a-vis Lebanon, and obviously do what they can to help support Iraq, said spokesman Sean McCormack.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t\u00bbPelosi currently in Israel with a delegation that includes Democrat Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the US Congress will travel to Syria, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia, said Ellison spokesman Rick Jauert.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t\u00bbThe White House denounced the visit by Pelosi a determined opponent of US President George W. Bush’s Iraq war policies and warned she may hand Syrian President Bashar al-Assad a symbolic diplomatic victory.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
