Un processus interne suivra dans le parti travailliste, dans le but,  \u00e0 moins d&rsquo;une surprise possible chez les travaillistes,  de conduire \u00e0 la d\u00e9signation de Gordon Brown comme son successeur officiel, fin juin.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tLa cause du d\u00e9part pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9 de Blair par rapport \u00e0 ce qu&rsquo;on pensait \u00eatre ses projets (d\u00e9part fin juin) semblerait \u00eatre la crainte d&rsquo;\u00eatre impliqu\u00e9, m\u00eame comme t\u00e9moin trop voyant, dans l&rsquo;affaire du scandale des pairies offertes \u00e0 des donateurs du parti pour les remercier.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tUn d\u00e9part le 9 mai interviendrait d&rsquo;une fa\u00e7on tr\u00e8s symbolique presque simultan\u00e9ment avec l&rsquo;\u00e9lection du nouveau pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique fran\u00e7aise (le 6 mai), introduisant au m\u00eame moment une situation politique nouvelle pour les deux pays. L&rsquo;un des projets probables du nouveau pr\u00e9sident fran\u00e7ais (que ce soit Sarkozy ou Royal) est de tenter d&rsquo;\u00e9tablir de nouvelles relations avec le Royaume-Uni, notamment au niveau des questions de d\u00e9fense et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>British Prime Minister Tony Blair will step down on May 9th, reports the Sunday Mail. The decision, according to the paper, was made to preempt any charges in the cash for honors scandal.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>That will trigger a seven-week leadership election process in the Labour Party and a new PM  probably Gordon Brown  will move into 10 Downing Street at the end of June, writes Rob Gibson.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The Crown Prosecution Service is unlikely to make a decision about whether to bring criminal charges against some of Blair&rsquo;s aides for allegedly taking kickbacks, despite ample evidence to do so, until Blair leaves office, reported the paper.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The Mail quotes an anonymous Labour MP who says that Blair will leave office on May 9th, as the Northern Ireland Executives take power. He wants to go out on a high note, not wait around to hear if or when the CPS are going to prosecute any of his friends, the MP is quoted.
