Un article de David Isenberg sur le site <em>Atimes.com<\/em>, le <a href=\"http:\/\/atimes.com\/atimes\/Japan\/IE05Dh01.html\" class=\"gen\">5 mai<\/a>, confirme <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dedefensa.org\/article.php?art_id=3951\" class=\"gen\">cette orientation<\/a> en m\u00eame temps qu&rsquo;il nous apporte quelques d\u00e9tails suppl\u00e9mentaires. (Isenberg travaille notamment avec BASIC et le Center of Defense Information, des instituts de recherche plut\u00f4t r\u00e9formistes et hostiles \u00e0 la politique ext\u00e9rieure de l&rsquo;administration.)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t Isenberg rapporte que les Japonais voudraient cent F-22A \u00e0 un prix qui pourrait atteindre $300 millions par avion.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t Un point n\u00e9gatif tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cis est soulev\u00e9, rapport\u00e9 par Reuters, qui a interrog\u00e9 le lieutenant g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Jeffrey Kohler, chef de la Defense Security Cooperation Agency, qui coordonne au Pentagone les ventes d&rsquo;armement de gouvernement \u00e0 gouvernement. Son estimation est que le Congr\u00e8s autant que l&rsquo;administration sont tr\u00e8s inclin\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00e9carter les obstacles juridiques emp\u00eachant cette vente.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>If the US government does allow the export of F-22 stealth fighters to Japan, it will be seen as an indication that Washington has made up its mind to strengthen the US-Japan alliance as part of its security strategy in the Northeast Asian region.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Some Japanese think that the US should sell the F-22 because Japan provides the US forward bases in the region as well as dispersal and rapid-deployment options in case of a military confrontation or natural disaster, say US officials.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t<em>Israel will also be watching the possible sale quite closely as it has shown keen interest in acquiring the F-22. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t()<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Acquisition of the F-22A would also be consistent with Abe&rsquo;s vision of Japan&rsquo;s foreign policy. During a March 18 speech at the National Defense Academy of Japan, Abe reiterated his call for the country to adopt a more assertive foreign policy and improve military capabilities. He called for further strengthening of the Japan-US alliance while steadily upgrading our country&rsquo;s national-security platform.<\/em> <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Over the past two years, the US and Japan have accelerated cooperation in ballistic-missile defense, with Japan procuring PAC-3 (Patriot Advanced Capability 3) batteries and the naval Standard Missile SM-3 air-defense systems. Additionally, Tokyo has acquired upgraded EP-3 patrol aircraft, radar and other facilities related to C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tIsenberg rappelle encore cette d\u00e9claration de Dennis Wilder, qui dirige les affaires d&rsquo;Asie Orientale au NSC.
