L&rsquo;amiral Fallon, d\u00e9sormais une <em>star<\/em> lui-m\u00eame, dirigeait les manuvres. Il a fait des d\u00e9clarations politiques caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es cette fois, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dedefensa.org\/article.php?art_id=4622\" class=\"gen\">au contraire<\/a> de son habitude, par une fermet\u00e9 tr\u00e8s affirm\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;encontre de l&rsquo;Iran. Fallon said that Iran&rsquo;s behavior since he assumed his post eight months earlier has not been helpful.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>I don&rsquo;t want the Iranians to make a mistake and feel that we are afraid of them or not willing to stand up for things that we should in this region, he said. There&rsquo;s concern over the Iranian behavior, concern in the region from the radical talk that is constantly threatening other people.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Fallon was in Egypt for the massive regional Bright Star military exercises held every two years between Egypt and the United States that include several other nations.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Iran is a challenge to us, to me as a commander in chief in this area, he added. Iran&rsquo;s behavior has not been very helpful in the region. The U.S. accuses Iran of supporting armed groups in Iraq that attack American forces  a charge the Iranians deny.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t()<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>We would like to see the Iranians actively seek ways to cooperate with other countries and not be challenging the other nations of the world, he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tFallon tient un langage tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent de celui qu&rsquo;on lui entend d&rsquo;habitude. Il se trouve actuellement dans une situation nouvelle. D&rsquo;une part les pressions des adversaires d&rsquo;une attaque (dont lui-m\u00eame) portent leurs fruits et les partisans d&rsquo;une attaque \u00e0 Washington sont sur la d\u00e9fensive. D&rsquo;autre part, les Iraniens de la tendance extr\u00e9miste (le pr\u00e9sident Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) ont profit\u00e9 des querelles internes \u00e0 Washington, et aussi du nouveau foyer de tension au Pakistan qui inqui\u00e8te les USA et change l&rsquo;orientation de leur dispositif strat\u00e9gique, pour accentuer leurs pressions et affirmer que la puissance US est incapable de r\u00e9aliser une attaque contre l&rsquo;Iran. Les militaires US, m\u00eame adversaires d&rsquo;une attaque contre l&rsquo;Iran, sont aussi comptables de la perception de la puissance US et ils ne veulent pas que celle-ci se d\u00e9grade. Ils le veulent d&rsquo;autant moins que ce serait encourager l&rsquo;extr\u00e9misme des Iraniens de la tendance Ahmadinejad. D&rsquo;o\u00f9 la r\u00e9action de Fallon, dont le jeu dans cette affaire est extr\u00eamement d\u00e9licat.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tOn observe tout de m\u00eame que les d\u00e9clarations de Fallon contiennent un appel implicite aux Iraniens.
