(Cette initiative avait \u00e9t\u00e9 prise pour l&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat de mesurer ce facteur psychologique, alors qu&rsquo;une crise s\u00e9v\u00e8re touchait les USA apr\u00e8s le crash boursier de 1987.) <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tL&rsquo;\u00e9dition 2008 vient d&rsquo;\u00eatre rendue publique et pulv\u00e9rise tous les records malheureux. L&rsquo;article d&rsquo;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/04\/04\/us\/04poll.html?_r=1&#038;th=&#038;adxnnl=1&#038;oref=slogin&#038;emc=th&#038;adxnnlx=1207311432-U9mafzU336bniSRypNyFbA\" class=\"gen\">aujourd&rsquo;hui<\/a> du New York <em>Times<\/em> qui nous informe l\u00e0-dessus annonce que 81% des Am\u00e9ricains estiment que le pays est dans la mauvaise voie (<em>on the wrong track<\/em>) Peut-\u00eatre encore plus significatif \u00e0 notre sens : seulement 4% des personnes interrog\u00e9es jugent que le pays est dans la bonne voie.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Americans are more dissatisfied with the country&rsquo;s direction than at any time since the New York Times\/CBS News poll began asking about the subject in the early 1990s, according to the latest poll.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>In the poll, 81 percent of respondents said they believed things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track, up from 69 percent a year ago and 35 percent in early 2002.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Although the public mood has been darkening since the early days of the war in Iraq, it has taken a new turn for the worse in the last few months, as the economy has seemed to slip into recession. There is now nearly a national consensus that the country faces significant problems.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>A majority of nearly every demographic and political group  Democrats and Republicans, men and women, residents of cities and rural areas, college graduates and those who finished only high school  say the United States is headed in the wrong direction. Seventy-eight percent of respondents said the country was worse off than five years ago; just 4 percent said it was better off.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The dissatisfaction is especially striking because public opinion usually hits its low point only in the months and years after an economic downturn, not at the beginning of one. Today, however, Americans report being deeply worried about the country even though many say their own personal finances are still in fairly good shape.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Only 21 percent of respondents said the overall economy was in good condition, the lowest such number since late 1992, when the recession that began in the summer of 1990 had already been over for more than a year. Quelle explication sinon celle de la communication et de la psychologie? Avant que d&rsquo;exister ou presque, avant de s&rsquo;\u00eatre inscrite dans la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 quotidienne, la nouvelle de la crise qui arrive installe la crise dans une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtualiste qui emporte les psychologies. Les Am\u00e9ricains sont en crise avant que l&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00e9nement lui-m\u00eame ait donn\u00e9 tous ses effets. C&rsquo;est dire quel acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur de la crise constitue ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, lorsqu&rsquo;on sait que les plus graves crises,  la Grande D\u00e9pression vient aussit\u00f4t \u00e0 l&rsquo;esprit,  reposent d&rsquo;abord, pour l&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration de leur aggravation, sur l&rsquo;effondrement de la psychologie.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tAu reste, les nouvelles s&rsquo;encha\u00eenent pour confirmer cette crise psychologique, comme celle du m\u00eame New York <em>Times<\/em> du <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/04\/04\/business\/apecon-web.html?hp\" class=\"gen\">4 avril<\/a>, annon\u00e7ant une nouvelle perte d&#8217;emploi et une augmentation cons\u00e9quente du ch\u00f4mage : \u00ab<em>Employers worried about recession slashed 80,000 jobs in March, the most in five years and the third consecutive month of losses.
