Le quotidien britannique poursuit depuis des ann\u00e9es une campagne d&rsquo;investigation et d&rsquo;accusation contre le g\u00e9ant britannique de l&rsquo;armement BAE, d\u00e9sormais officiellement classable comme le champion du monde toutes cat\u00e9gories pour fraudes et corruption en tous genres. Toute la presse britannique annonce ce soir que BAE a capitul\u00e9 devant le d\u00e9partement de la justice US (DoJ) et le Serious Fraud Office (SFO) britannique, a reconnu sa culpabilit\u00e9 dans toutes les charges relev\u00e9es contre lui et accept\u00e9 de payer $400 millions au DoJ, \u00a330 millions au SFO plus diverses autres amendes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tParmi d&rsquo;autres, le <em>Guardian<\/em> d\u00e9taille ce <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/world\/2010\/feb\/05\/bae-admits-bribery-saudi-yamamah\" class=\"gen\">5 f\u00e9vrier 2010<\/a> la d\u00e9cision de BAE. Le <em>Guardian<\/em> a sans aucun doute jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le essentiel dans cette affaire.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The British arms firm BAE Systems has accepted guilt and agreed to pay penalties in the US and the UK totalling several hundred million dollars to settle all the long-running corruption allegations against it.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Under the deal, announced simultaneously in London and Washington, BAE will pay $400m (\u00a3255m) in the US and \u00a330m in the UK.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>In the US, the company will plead guilty to offences of false accounting to settle bribery allegations made over the enormous al-Yamamah arms deals with Saudi Arabia stretching back more than 20 years, as well as corruption allegations over arms deals in central Europe.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The deal with the Serious Fraud Office in the UK covers one arms contract only, under which an overpriced military radar was sold to Tanzania. The SFO said some of the cash would become an ex gratia payment for the benefit of the people of Tanzania.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The settlement vindicates a long campaign fought by the Guardian, which began a series of exposures of BAE&rsquo;s criminal conduct more than six years ago. BAE repeatedly denied all wrongdoing.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>I am very pleased with the global outcome achieved collaboratively with the DoJ (US department of justice), said the SFO director, Richard Alderman.
