That POTUS hesitates to heed his advisers, because POTUS frets that he is being sand-bagged by experts, allies, confidantes. Whispering that POTUS frailties most in display in West Wing settings. That POTUS evidences a Nixonian persecution mania. Can any of this be confirmed? Not easily. Less detailed, POTUS is said to express his opinion to pals in Chicago that he dislikes his job. Wilder whisperings that some pros are now weighing that POTUS try an LBJ exit after one term   rather than face a Carter collapse.<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tWheeler, un dur de la droite dure US (un doublement dur, \u00e0 la droite des <em>neocons<\/em>), boit du petit lait. Nous en mentionnons un, de Deborah White, une cadre du parti d\u00e9mocrate en Californie, datant du <a href=\"http:\/\/usliberals.about.com\/b\/2010\/05\/31\/obamas-nixonian-traits-beach-walking-with-two-disliked-presidents.htm?p=1\" class=\"gen\">31 mai 2010<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tWhite d\u00e9crit un Obama parcouru de nombre de travers du Nixon de l&rsquo;affaire Watergate, le go\u00fbt du secret, la rupture avec le monde ext\u00e9rieur, le repli sur une petite \u00e9quipe de collaborateurs, l&rsquo;absence compl\u00e8te de transparence, une vindicte incroyable contre la presse, une tr\u00e8s grande absence de rapports humains, une froideur de caract\u00e8re, une impossibilit\u00e9 de communiquer, etc.  tout cela, selon le jugement de White. Elle observe que la crise du Golfe du Persique accentue ces traits jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 en faire une description d&rsquo;une crise personnelle o\u00f9 s&rsquo;enfonce Obama.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tSa conclusion est tr\u00e8s pessimiste Elle met en \u00e9vidence des hypoth\u00e8ses qui, selon elle, risquent de gravement handicaper Obama. Or worse&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>I say all this to fervently urge the Obama White House toward more transparency. Toward more connection with the desires of the American people. Toward less reliance on political hacks to hone policy and policy messaging. Toward more courage, boldness and forthrightness, and less Nixonian-style cynical political maneuvrings.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>It didn&rsquo;t end well for Richard Nixon. I, and most Democrats, desperately want it to end well for Barack Obama.
