Il y envisage les diverses fa\u00e7ons de conduire ce qui lui para\u00eet irr\u00e9versible, qui est le d\u00e9clin de la puissance h\u00e9g\u00e9monique des USA. Ses recommandations vont \u00e9videmment dans le sens de la raison, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire d&rsquo;une gestion ordonn\u00e9e consistant \u00e0 prendre des mesures progressives de retrait et de d\u00e9sengagement des terres ext\u00e9rieures pour soulager le poids budg\u00e9taire \u00e9crasant de l&#8217;empire et se tourner vers une reconstruction int\u00e9rieure des USA,  pays particuli\u00e8rement d\u00e9vast\u00e9 au point o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on parle (Arianna Huffington) de la tiersmondisation des USA.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tUn passage est \u00e0 signaler, qui \u00e9voque une autre option, qui est celle de l&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration catastrophique du d\u00e9clin, de la gestion contr\u00f4l\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;effondrement. Borchgrave \u00e9voque pour cela l&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se, rejoignant celle d&rsquo;un neo-s\u00e9cessionniste que nous citions le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dedefensa.org\/article-voici_les_neo-secessionnistes__26_04_2010.html\" class=\"gen\">26 avril 2010<\/a> : une attaque de l&rsquo;Iran. Au passage, Boirchgrave nous rappelle quelques bonnes r\u00e9alit\u00e9s : qu&rsquo;en supprimant Saddam, les USA ont \u00e9limin\u00e9 un alli\u00e9 objectif, qu&rsquo;ils ont ainsi permis \u00e0 l&rsquo;Iran de devenir une grande puissance r\u00e9gionale Impressionnant chapelet d&rsquo;erreurs, qui pourrait \u00eatre couronn\u00e9 par l&rsquo;erreur finale d&rsquo;une attaque de l&rsquo;Iran.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>Iraq clearly was an expensive geopolitical illusion, a weird concoction of motives inspired by neocons who thought they were making Israel more secure.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Precisely the opposite was achieved. Seven years and $1 trillion later, Iran has more influence in Iraq than the United States. After the United States coughed up $1 trillion it didn&rsquo;t have to fight the Iraq war, Baghdad still has less electric power than it had under Saddam Hussein.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>None of our modern knuckleheaded empire builders, who thought they perceived Israel&rsquo;s interests more clearly than the rest of the country, understood that Saddam, albeit a cruel dictator, was our best defense against Iranian expansionism.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>In 1980, Saddam had taken on the evil empire next door. But Iran&rsquo;s obscurantist zealots used teenagers with golden keys to paradise to walk across Iraqi minefields, and a million dead and eight years later, the two Gulf giants fought themselves to a Mexican standoff.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The decline of the American empire may be hastened by another war in the Gulf  this time triggered by Israeli and\/or U.S. bombs on Iran&rsquo;s nuclear installations. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appears to be pushing his luck by moving Iran&rsquo;s frontiers to Israel&rsquo;s borders &#8211; with Hezbollah to the north in Lebanon, Syria to the east and Hamas in Gaza to the south.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Iran&rsquo;s medieval hawks have convinced themselves that an asymmetrical Gulf war would speed up the end of what they call American imperial colonialism.<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<p class=\"signature\"><em>defefensa.org<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le d\u00e9clin de l&#8217;empire : en douceur ou catastrophique ?
