Un mouvement de boycott d&rsquo;<em>Amazon.com<\/em> se dessine actuellement, selon une circonstance o\u00f9 Internet a l&rsquo;occasion de montrer sa libert\u00e9 de manuvre et sa position antisyst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t<em>Antiwar.com<\/em> donne un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 de l&rsquo;affaire, sous la plume de Jason Ditz, le <a href=\"http:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2010\/12\/01\/amazon-ousts-wikileaks-at-officials-behest\/\" class=\"gen\">1er d\u00e9cembre 2010<\/a>. Bien que n&rsquo;\u00e9tant pas dans une position florissante, <em>Antiwar.com<\/em>, selon une logique et une d\u00e9termination qu&rsquo;il faut saluer, a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de boycotter <em>Amazon.com<\/em> en refusant d\u00e9sormais ses publicit\u00e9s (lesquelles lui rapportaient $10.000 par an). L&rsquo;affaire est un bon exemple du dilemme et des conditions de la bataille que m\u00e8nent les ind\u00e9pendants d&rsquo;Internet contre le syst\u00e8me. Quoi que l&rsquo;on pense de <em>Wikileaks<\/em>, puisque certains \u00e9mettent des interrogations \u00e0 son propos, il s&rsquo;agit ici d&rsquo;une affaire fondamentale de principe confront\u00e9e \u00e0 la violence, \u00e0 l&rsquo;arbitraire et \u00e0 la sauvagerie du pouvoir politique au service du syst\u00e8me, tout cela relay\u00e9 sans \u00e9tat d&rsquo;\u00e2me par un grand groupe de vente en ligne.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\tNous reproduisons <em>in extenso<\/em> le texte d&rsquo;<em>Antiwar.com<\/em>. (On retrouvera sur le texte original un certain nombre de liens documentant la nouvelle).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>Major Internet retailer Amazon.com is facing a growing public backlash and a call for boycotts, including a call by Antiwar.com, following its decision this morning to oust WikiLeaks.org from its cloud server hosting service.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The move came following pressure from a number of top officials, including Sen. Joe Lieberman (I  CT), who slammed Amazon&rsquo;s decision in allowing the whistleblower to host information embarrassing to the US government.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Amazon.com has refused to comment on its removal but appears to have done so without giving WikiLeaks advanced notice, leaving their site down for much of the morning. The site is now back up and is based in Uppsala, Sweden. The new host in Bahnhof Internet AB.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>WikiLeaks condemned the decision, saying if Amazon are so uncomfortable with the first amendment, they should get out of the business of selling books. A number of consumers have already vowed to boycott Amazon over the decision.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>The call for a formal boycott is also growing from a number of groups, including Antiwar.com, which removed Amazon.com&rsquo;s advertising links from its website in the wake of the announcement. In the past year Antiwar.com received approximately $10,000 through its referral links to Amazon.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>Technically speaking, Amazon&rsquo;s web hosting service allows all accounts to be banned at any time for virtually any reason. The decision to ban such an important website and at such an important time appears to have sparked considerable reaction.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>And praise from Sen. Lieberman, who said Amazon has set the standard for other companies on the issue.
