Le SOTU 2014 : discours sur l’\u00e9tat du big Now<\/em><\/h4>\n

Reid J. Epstein, pourtant du tr\u00e8s politiquement correct Politico.com<\/em>, nous avait averti, avant m\u00eame le discours, qu’il n’y aurait rien de nouveau (le 28 janvier 2014<\/a> : \u00abBarack Obama’s State of the Union d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu<\/em>\u00bb). Joseph Kishore, de WSWS.org<\/em>, en fait un compte-rendu pr\u00e9cis et rageur pour nous en d\u00e9crire le vide int\u00e9gral et \u00e9videmment r\u00e9actionnaire (le 29 janvier 2014<\/a>, \u00abObama’s State of the Union address: An empty and reactionary charade<\/em>\u00bb)…<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\tLe discours sur l’\u00c9tat de l’Union, fiesta<\/em> annuelle de morne autosatisfaction du POTUS courant des USA et du syst\u00e8me washingtonien, se d\u00e9signe cette ann\u00e9e, selon les sources et en fonction de la r\u00e9partition des majuscules, comme SOTU (State Of The Union adress<\/em>) ou SOTA (State Of The union Adress<\/em>). Mais SOTU est n\u00e9anmoins le plus usit\u00e9 ; ainsi est clos le seul d\u00e9bat int\u00e9ressant du discours annuel de BHO, hier, devant le Congr\u00e8s. Jason Ditz, de Antiwar.com<\/em>, a pourtant r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 en faire en quelques lignes une mati\u00e8re du plus haut int\u00e9r\u00eat par la mise en \u00e9vidence de sa pratique syst\u00e9matique de la contradiction interne \u00e9nonc\u00e9e \u00e0 la satisfaction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, pour le domaine de la politique ext\u00e9rieure (le 29 janvier 2014<\/a>). Ce qui est en effet remarquable, c’est l’accumulation d’affirmations de choses diverses aussit\u00f4t suivies d’affirmations de leurs contraires (exemple de l’Afghanistan, une guerre [qui] se termine tout en \u00e9tant sans fin…)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t\u00abBragging about ending the Iraq War, President Obama touted his plan to end the Afghan War, while openly talking about an open-ended deployment of US troops on the ground there engaged in counter-terrorism operations. A war ended and simultaneously endless. He then went on to talk about ending the permanent war footing the United States has been on since 9\/11, but openly talked up increased military spending for future missions and intervention abroad.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t\u00bbClosing Guantanamo Bay was raised as a possibility, if Congress wants to, and he defended the notion of negotiations with Iran, while trying to downplay the chance of succeeding and reiterating that the US will retain all options to move against Iran no matter what.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t\u00bbEven on Syria, Obama’s position was filled with hedges, promising to back the rebels, but only the rebels that reject terrorism, and promising the future the Syrian people deserve while providing no detains about how to get there, or how arming those rebels, something he’s been doing for quite some time, was going to produce a different result than the stalemate that’s been on so far.<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\t… Ainsi Obama est-il le parfait POTUS de notre big Now<\/em>, dont nous entretenons nos lecteurs ce m\u00eame 29 janvier 2014<\/a>. Il accumule \u00e0 la fois les crises, leur irr\u00e9solution g\u00e9n\u00e9rale et sa propre impuissance paralys\u00e9e, ou bien sa paralysie impuissante c’est selon, dans l’action qu’il poursuit \u00e0 leur \u00e9gard ou \u00e0 leur encontre. Il m\u00e9lange avec brio les narrative<\/em>, saluant la fin d’une guerre qui n’en fut jamais une et affirmant que cette non-guerre se poursuivra jusqu’\u00e0 la fin des temps. L’illusionniste parvient ainsi \u00e0 transformer le big Now<\/em> en \u00ab\u00e9ternel pr\u00e9sent<\/em>\u00bb. Il est interrompu par les standing ovations<\/em> r\u00e9glementaires, en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral entre 18 et 20 pour tout le discours, selon les statistiques officielles.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\tIl se confirme par cons\u00e9quent qu’il s’agit d’un homme tr\u00e8s intelligent, cet Obama-l\u00e0. Son affirmation que son mandat est quasiment termin\u00e9 (voir le 22 janvier 2014<\/a>) est parfaitement rencontr\u00e9e et justifie d’autant plus qu’il se mette d’ores et d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e0 ses m\u00e9moires (voir le 21 janvier 2014<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
