Pandit va plus loin en estimant que le lien de confiance entre Wall Street et les citoyens US est rompu, et que c&rsquo;est \u00e0 Wall Street de regagner leur confiance (\u00ab<em>it&rsquo;s Wall Street&rsquo;s job to reach out to Main Street and rebuild that trust<\/em>\u00bb). Les banques, dont Citigroup, doivent donc s&rsquo;y mettre. Et Pandit d&rsquo;ajouter un d\u00e9tail redoutable, indiquant qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;y a pas n\u00e9cessairement unanimit\u00e9 et solidarit\u00e9 \u00e0 Wall Street, que les uns et les autres peuvent jouer des jeux diff\u00e9rents, que la discorde au moins potentielle existe chez l&rsquo;ennemi par cons\u00e9quent ; on sent cela lorsque Pandit annonce que Citigroup a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de ne pas faire payer de redevances pour l&rsquo;usage de cartes de cr\u00e9dit, alors que Bank of America et Wells Fargo ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 annonc\u00e9 qu&rsquo;ils le feraient ($5 et $3 respectivement). (A noter qu&rsquo;un parlementaire d\u00e9mocrate de Californie a d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9nonc\u00e9 ces d\u00e9cisions et recommand\u00e9 \u00e0 ses \u00e9lecteurs de retirer leurs comptes de Bank of America,  \u00e9ventuellement pour passer \u00e0 Citigroup ?)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00ab<em>Vikram Pandit, CEO of one of the most visible Wall Street institutions in Citigroup, said he thinks the sentiments of the Occupy Wall Street protesters are completely understandable. Their sentiments are completely understandable, Pandit said in an interview Wednesday with Andrew Serwer of Fortune Magazine. The economic recovery is not what we all want it to be, there are a number of people in our country who cant achieve what they are capable of achieving and that&rsquo;s not a good place to be.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\t\u00bb<em>I would also corroborate that trust has been broken between financial institutions and the citizens of the U.S. and that it&rsquo;s Wall Street&rsquo;s job to reach out to Main Street and rebuild that trust, he said in the interview. I&rsquo;d talk about the fact that they should hold Citi and the financial institutions accountable for practicing responsible finance. Pandit added that he&rsquo;d be happy to talk to them anytime, noting that he would emphasize Citi&rsquo;s efforts to expand small business lending and their decision not to charge a fee for debit card use. Bank of America announced last month that it would start charging a $5 fee for using a debit card for purchases starting in 2012.
